BEACH PATROLS SELECTED
All main beaches near Christchurch will be patrolled by paid life-savers during the Christmas school holidays. The paid beach patrols will keep a constant watch on the beaches from Monday to Friday and the Canterbury surf clubs will take over at week-ends. Paid beach patrols, who will be on duty between December 21 and January 31, are as follows: Waimairi Beach, B. Graham; North Beach, B. Walker; New Brighton, P. Hatch well; South Brighton, K. Pearson: Sumner, T. Jay; Taylor’s Mistake, R. McDowell.
