RESERVE BANK
T.B. Borrowing Reduced Trading banks reduced their borrowing from the Reserve Bank from £2.7m to £o.3m this week. Their deposits with the bank fell from £ 70.2 m to £66.3m. Sterling and other exchange held by the Reserve Bank showed a further seasonal fall, from £ 36.6 m to £ 34.9 m. Overseas investments were steady at £ 16.4 m. Net Government indebtedness to the rank rose £s.om. The note issue rose a further £3.6m and can be expected to rise further next week, the last balance date before Christmas.
