Bridge Falls; 38 Killed
(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 16. At least 38 persons died when a bridge collapsed and •dunged a crowded bus. two lorries and a car into the River Plata on Saturday. Rescue and repair crews working on the bridge between Brasilia and Belo Horizonte feared more victims, the Associated Press reported.
Twins Operated On.—Beverley and Gloria Sayer, the 15-year-old Essex table tennis twins, are both “satisfactory" after "hole-in-the-heart” operations in a London hospital. They hope to play in the English open table tennis championships in March.—(London, December 16.)
