Situation.—An anti-cyclone lies over the Tasman Sea with a ridge of high pressure extending to the area south of New Zealand. A small depression centred east of central New Zealand is moving eastwards. Forecast:— Canterbury.—South-west winds fresh in exposed areas; cold ana showery this morning, but improving later. Outlook: mainly fine. Marlborough.—Light winds at first, but fresh, possibly strong, southerlies developing in exposed areas with showery weather and cold temperatures. Outlook: coastal showers. Nelson and West Coast.—Light or moderate variable winds; fine, apart from a few showers in the ranges; mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: mainly fine.
