Trades Council Officers
Mr F. L. Langley was reelected president, unopposed, at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Trades Council of the Federation of Labour. The following officers were also elected: vice-president, Mr L. N. Short (unopposed); secretary-treasurer, Mr S. Harris; national councillor, Mr Langley; disputes committee, Messrs F. E. McNulty and R. J. Pitcairn; executive, Messrs N. McNab, McNulty, A. E. Armstrong. E. C. Blacker, R. Fergus, R. Hill, and C. R. Thomas.
The meeting placed on record Its appreciation of the national president (Mr F. P. Walsh) and executive for their endeavours to preserve and improve the conditions and wages of all workers in New Zealand. It condemned wholeheartedly "the attempts being made to destroy the leadership of the F.0.L.”
