Repudiation By Malaya
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, Nov. 28. Malaya today repudiated in the United Nations the Philippines claim to sovereignty over British North Borneo, while insisting that the question was "entirely a matter between the United Kingdom and the Philippines Government.” Hie chief delegate of the Federation of Malaya, Dato Ong Yoke Lin, told the General Assembly that during the colonialism debate his Government had “proceeded with the Malaysia plan as a result of a very strong desire of the people in North Borneo to achieve indepedence through merger with the federation.” All political parties in that territory supported the Malaysia plan that would link Malaya. Singapore and North Borneo. he said. "There is practically no dissenting voice.”
