Races Timed Incorrectly (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE. Nov. 28 Four alterations to world records already established in the Empire Games were announced by the swimming referee (Mr J. H. Morrison) yesterday, the Melbourne •’Age" reported today. The alterations, all of them improving the present world record times by l-10th of a second, have come about because the French firm. Longines. who are doing the official timing at the Games, have been clocking in lOOths of a second.
The alterations are the women's 440-yard freestyle relay, die 110-yard freestyle, the 220-yard breaststroke,
and the 880-yard men's freestyle relay.
