The appointee would enter on a six year commission. beginning about April. 1963. The appointee would undergo Naval training before going overseas in August, 1963 to undertake PhD. studies at an appropriate university. 2. Chemist. Physicist or Chemical Engineer—N.Z Army. Honours Degree desired but applicant possessing some qualifications and having practical experience in Science or Industry would be considered. The appointee would be commissioned for five vears. entering the Corps about April. 1963. Die appointee would be sent overseas for a period of one or two years for training in Textile Technology at an appropriate University followed by practical experience in a suitable institution. On return the appointee would develop standards and tests for Service equipment with special reference to the textile field. The position calls tor considerable versatility and the ability to co-operate with Military Scientific. and Industrial personnel. A good general scientific background is essential and while it ts likely that the appointee will have the major qualification In Chemistry or Physics other major qualifications combined with an adequate knowledge of these subjects would be considered.
