MALAYAN PILOTS
More To Train In N.Z. (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. The Royal New Zealand Air Force will, in future, train six Royal Malayan Air Force student pilots each year and an R.N.Z.A.F. officer will be seconded for duty with the Royal Malayan Air Force. The officer selected for seconding with the R.M.A.F. is Flight Lieutenant M. W. Hodge, of Rotorua. He will take up his duties at the Malayan Air Force’s flying training school at Kuala Lumpur early next month. “A revised expansion programme for the R.M.A.F. necessitates an increased intake of student pilots, and the R.N.Z.A.F. has been asked if it can accept more students from this service,” said the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) today. “The flying training school at Wigram can accept this additional commitment and the Government has been happy to co-oper-ate in the . interests of a friendly South-east Asian neighbour.”
