FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM
£4OO For Science Wing The Association of Friends of the Canterbury Museum has given £4OO as a start towards the projected Rutherford science wing. “During the year your executive committee gave whole-hearted approval of this centennial memorial for the museum,” said the president of the association (Mr S. R. Dacre) in his report at the annual meeting last evening. “That sum depleted our reserves, but we have made an investment which should be unanimously approved. "A legacy of £lOO from the executors of the estate of Miss P. Boyle has been received since the accounts for the year closed. We record our thanks, with memories of a happy association with her as a committee woman." said Mr Dacre. Officers elected were: president, Mr S. R. Dacre; secretary, Mr A. M. Eyles: treasurer. Mr G. B. Battersby: auditor, Mr A. C. Felton; committee. Mesdames H. S. Barker. W. S. Mac Gibbon. J. J. Mulligan, J. G. Simpson, and P. Thomson. Miss R. Reynolds, Messrs H. W. Beaumont, C. Dunn. H. G. Helmore, G. C. C. Sandston and P. Dunbar, and Dr. R. S. Duff.
