DESBOROUGH, Registrar. 3191 VICTORIA UNIVERSITY OF WELLINGTON LAW LIBRARIAN Applications are invited from qualified graduate librarians for the position of law librarian. with the status and salary of head of department £l2OO- - x 100. A knowledge of law or previous experience in a law library is not essential but would be an advantage. The appointment of a law graduate without library experience is not excluded. It Is expected that the law library will move into new quarters on completion of the new library building in 1964, where it will occupy an area of 4000 sq. ft. It will be administered as a department of the University library and the librarian will be responsible to the university librarian. The collection will have to be reclassified and a separate catalogue made before the move, and with this in mind the university will endeavour to arrange for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to visit selected law libraries before taking up the appointment. In the new library building the law collection will be housed apart from the main library, with Its own entrance. There will be accommodation for 110 readers and provision will be made In open stacks for 17,000 volumes. The staff of the Law Faculty numbers 9 full-time and 7 part-time teachers. The present enrolment in the Law Faculty is 358.
