Latest Year Is Record The National Mutual Life Association lifted its new business record to over £AI 92m for the financial year ended September 30, 1962, according to the manager for New Zealand (Mr S. R. Ellis).
He said the latest figure was an increase of 6.3 per cent on the 1961 figure of £180,742,000. For the tenth year in succession record business was written in New ZeaIrnd, completions totalling £51.46 million (£NZ42.Im). compared with £47.9 million (£NZ3B.3m) the previous year.
The association's new premium income for the year was £5.090,000. The average sum assured under new policies was a record £2500—£350 higher than in 1961 and £460 above the 1960 figure. "New Zealand and Australia contributed nearly £l6om. or 83 per cent, of the National Mutual’s world-wide - new business," said Mr Ellis. He said the wisdom of arranging superannuation through life policies was thoroughly vindicated during the recent economic setback in Australia.
Quill Morris.—A steady interim dividend of 5 per cent, has been declared. Total payment last year was 12} per cent The books will close from December 3 to December 14 inclusive.
