ADDINGTON SHADOW

No Change To Be Made The photo-finish mirror assembly at Addington which was to have been moved back about 20ft from the rails will be left in its present position, said the secretary of Addington Trotting Course, Ltd. (Mr D. C. Parker) yesterday. Mr Parker was commenting on criticism of the shadow cast on the track by the assembly made recently at the annual meetings of the New Zealand Horsemen’s Association and the Canterbury Trotting Owners’ and Breeders’ Association. The photo-flnish contractors had advised that, with the introduction of night trotting, it would be inadvisable to make any change, said Mr Parker. They had pointed out that they knew of no track where the photofinish mirror assembly was situated more than a foot or so from the running rail.

New Brighton Track

The New Brighton Trotting Club will open the mam track at its course next Tuesday morning between 9 and 11 am. for horses engaged at the club’s meeting on Saturday, December 1.

The club’s starter (Mr R. Carter) will be in attendance to give barrier practice, particularly to horses engaged in the New Zealand Oaks.
