OFFENCES AT CAMP
Four Accused Sentenced
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 19. One man was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and three others were fined and placed on probation under special conditions for three years when they appeared for sentence in the Magistrate’s Court at Palmerston North today on charges concerning indecent assault on other males, mainly at Linton Military Camp, between February and November of this year. It seemed clear that the accused was a source of contamination. stated Mr D G Sinclair, S.M., in ordering three years’ imprisonment for Bertram Harvey, aged 40 William John Leslie Story, aged 24, who was convicted on five charges of indecent assault, was fined £lO and costs on each charge. Robert Martin Peebles, aged 23. was fined £25 on each of two charges, and similar penalties were inflicted on Rodney William John Wilkinson, aged 19, who also faced two charges.
