SATURDAY (Before Mf nr F. W. Ziznmennan and D. C. Richardson, Justices of the Peace) REMANDED Brian Carrington, aged 33. a workman, was remanded in custody until today on a charge ot robbing James Richards of £3O and £1 worth of Golden Kiwi lottery tickets and papers valued at 5s on October 23. Mr L. H. Moore, who appeared for Carrington, applied for bad and made submissions for bail in chambers. Sergeant V. F. Townshend opposed bad, and said that Carrington used violence when committing the alleged offence and when he was arrested. THREE WEEKS’ GAOL Sydney Arthur Stringeraged 80. was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment when he was convicted on his fifth charge of drunkenness within the last six months. He was found drunk in Cathedral square at 7.15 p.m. on Friday. Stringer wbb also ordered to take out a prohibition order.
