SALVATION ARMY RALLY
More than 700 persons attended a Salvation Army rally in the Civic Theatre last evening when Major D. Goffin, secretary of Salvation Army bands in Britain, and his wife spoke. The Blenheim band provided the music and the Christchurch Songsters sang a hymn to the first tune written by Major Coffin. Major Goffin appealed to “those who are repentant" to go forward and confess. Many people responded. Major Goffin spoke at the morning service in the Christchurch Citadel yesterday. In the afternoon he conducted a meeting in the Citadel which more than 600 persons attended. Major Goffin and Mrs Goffin will be in Christchurch until November 22, when they will go to Otago and Southland. They will leave New Zealand in January.
