NEVER ON SATURDAY
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 19.
British Columbia’s Minister of Highways (Mr P. Gaglardi) said in Auckland, on Saturday, that he was astounded to find business premises shut and city streets so deserted.
"Back borne Saturday Is a big day for business,” be said. ’But it seems everything closes up here at the week-end. No, I’m not blaming anyone for this and certainly not criticising.” Saturday closing obviously suited New Zealand, but, he said, he doubted whether . it would work anywhere else.
