Gold Missing After Flight
(N.ZJ>u4. -Reuter—Copyright) FRANKFURT, Nov. 17.
A hundred gold bars worth more than £4OOO disappeared yesterday on a flight from London to Frankfurt.
The gold was loaded aboard a British European Airways freight aircraft at London under strict security. A B.E.A spokesman in London said: “Our own security men checked the consignment out and it was complete. We have since heard 100 fine gold bars are missing. It seems that whatever happened, happened in Germany,” he said.
Asylum Sought.— The captain, first engineer and radio officer of a Cuban freighter asked for political asylum in Hamburg last night, police said. Their ship, the 3805-ton Bahia de Nipe, left Hamburg early today. Hamburg, November 17.
