Another False Start

A totalisator clerk employed at the Te Rapa races on Saturday by mistake overpaid one better by £l6O. Payment was being made early in the day of late dividends from the Cambridge meeting the previous week. The clerk intended to pay the better £4O in two bundles of 20 £1 notes, but in error handed over two bundles of 20 £5 notes. The money has not yet been recovered.
