TRAINING IN MUSIC
Suggestions For Scheme (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Nov. «. There was strong support for the provision of improved facilities for advanced training in music, the Minister of Education. (Mr Tennent) told Mr L. R. Ariams-SPhneider (Government, Hamilton) in the House of Representatives this afternoon. “ However,” Mr Tennent said, “opinion is divided as to whether we should have a central national school of music or develop facilities in regional centres in association with the universities. “I am still receiving representations on this matter and when these are all received, I shall decide on the appropriate steps to be taken," said the minister.
Mr Adams-Schneider had inquired if Mr Tennent would consider establishing a school of music to enable teacher* and those about to teach music to have specialist tuition.
