Mental Patients Given Liquor (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 6. On two charges of supplying liquor to a mental patient, Sydney David Buster White, a workman, was fined a total of £2O by Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today. White, who is serving a prison term of two and threequarter years for other offences. pleaded guilty to the charges. Sergeant J. A. McCarthy said White drove to Oakley Hospital in August to visit two patients. He took the two men to a city hotel where they had some liquor, and later to a house where one of the men ran off and had not been recaptured.
