Record Savings Deposits
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 5. Deposits received by the Auckland Savings Bank in October totalled £3,748,000, the highest figure for any one month in the bank's history. The bank’s president (Mr W. T. Anderton) said the deposits were “all the more remarkable” as a Government loan was on the market and October was not usually considered an outstanding savings month.
