BURNSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
Work On New Baths The work on the new swimming pool at Burnside High School is going ahead according to schedule, and it is hoped that the baths will be used before the end of the term, the school's board of governors was told at its monthly meeting yesterday. Voluntary work, organised by the school’s parent-teacher association, is being done on the concreting around the pool and this work is expected to be completed in two weeks. Before the meeting the board members went over the school and also inspected the new block, which the headmaster (Mr C. Cross) reported as proceeding as rapidly as could be expected. The question of the enrolment scheme suggested by the Hillmorton High School was deferred until next month's meeting. Mr Cross said that feeling on the scheme might vary from board to board “It is not such a problem with us. There is a somewhat lesser and freer system in our area,” he said.
