Waimate Club’s Loss Of £54

The Wacmate Racing dub, which lost only £54 last year compared with £287 a year earlier, hones to operate on a small profit next year, says the president, Mr V. J. Meehan, in his annual report. Reduced operating costs and higher receipts from the T.A.B. were mainly responsible for the reduction in the clrtb’s loss. Mr Meehan says. "It is anticipated that with the further reduction in expenditure proposed. next year will see the dub operating at a small profit. No major improvements had been carried out at the racecourse during the year, but the grounds and buildings had been maintained in good order by the joint grounds committee, he says. At £748 the club’s share of the course maintenance costs had been £ 100 lower than the previous year. This year it would be reduced further to £5OO.
