Worshippers at the Durham Street Methodist Church tomorrow will see a number of changes in the sanctuary The communion table has been brought forward and lifted up on two steps The' sober red carpet has been; replaced by one of old-gold colour, and the sanctuary | area considerably enlarged A new communion rail has been installed twice as long as the previous one It is; held by brass standards The entire reconstruction has cost £BOO provided largely by' gifts from members of the! congregation “What we have done is Inj line with modern insights into the worshippers' needs of the church." said the Rev W S Dawson “Alterations have been planned to harmonise with the architecture of an 89-year-old church.”
