J The appointment of Miss J B. Stone as New Zealand's ’ referee at the international • tournament to be held in England in August, 1963, is a popular one. She was clearly the outstanding referee in the recent national tournament and her selection was thoroughly deserved. Miss Stone, an assistant m lecturer in physical educa»s tion at Christchurch >e Teachers’ College, is one of i's only two who hold a New r- Zealand badge. She also as holds the Canterbury senior to and provincial and New >'o Zealand tournament badges, a- Miss Stone has done much e) to foster basketball at at Teachers' College, where m she coaches teams, and referees.
