ONE HUNDRED UNDER PAR?
r l''HE Christchurch profes--1 sicoai. R. J. Charles, has been playing wonderful golf on the British tournament circuit this year. In the three months since May he has participated in 12 tournaments and his aggregate score for 810 holes in 89 under par. Details of his victory at Engadine (Switzerland) are not yet to hand, but his four-round total of 271 would probably
make his figure 100 below scratch. In only eight of his 45 rounds so far has he exceeded par. Details of his fine performance in the Woodlawn Club open tournament in Germany—he tied with Max Faulkner for first place and lost the play-off—are also not available. The figures for Charles’s eastern rounds are:—
