93rd BIRTHDAY TODAY
Mrs A. M. Clark, Of Ashburton
Mrs Ada Mary Clark, of Elizabeth street. Ashburton, will celebrate her ninetythird birthday today. No elaborate plans have been made to mark the occasion, which will be celebrated in a quiet manner. Mrs Clark came to New Zealand when she was three years old and has spent the rest of her life, 90 years, in Ashburton. In 1895. she married Robert Clark. at St. Stephen's Church. Mr Clark was a carriage painter and land agent in Ashburton He was also prominent in local affairs, being a Justice of the Peace and the District Coroner for a period. He died in 1937. Among Mrs C'ark’s hobbies are knitting and sewing, and in the past she has judged both knitting and sewing classes at numerous shows She still has an active mind and has retained her interest in knitting Mrs Clark is living with her nephew, Mr R. McDonald of Elizabeth street
