Half-Pint To Be 1/9 (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. The retail price of cream will rise by Id a half-pint on October 1. The new retail prices will be Is 9d a half-pint and IOJ a quarterpint. Commenting on the increase. the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) said that it had resulted from an adjustment in vendors' delivery margins and in margins for shop dairies. “The price of cream has been unchanged since 1952,” Mr Taiboys said, "although there was r general increase in the price of milk in 1954 The Government considers tihat the increase in distribution costs for cream should be reflected in a small increase in- consumer prices rather than become an extra cost to the town milk suosidy.”
