HOUSE SET ON FIRE
Heater Thrown At Wife (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug 31. A watersider, James McCorry, aged 46. assaulted his wife, threw a lighted kerosene heater at her. which missed and smashed, setting the room on fire, then attempted to fight a spectator in the street who had come to watch the disturbance when the fire brigade arrived. These details were given by Sergeant A. Davey in the Magistrate's Court at Wellington today when McCorry was charged before Mr M. B Scully, S.M., with assaulting Francis Amokura McCorry and using obscene language. McCorry. who admitted the charges, v.as sentenced to two weeks' gaol on each charge, the terms to be concurrent.
