The Russians have not yet replied to the British protest Note over Wednesday's incident over Berlin when * Russian transport plane narrowly missed colliding with • BE A. Viscount airliner. The incident was disclosed by a British spokesman last night. He said the British protest was given to the Russian representative at the four-Power air safety centre. Officials said the Viscount pilot had to take violent evasive action when the Russian plane appeared only about 50 yards away, the British United Press said. An airline spokesman said the Viscount had to fly an “evasive action, swinging over to the port side to escape a near miss.” He said the two aircraft were flying at the same altitude. He would not say how close they came to one another.
