National Orchestra
Sir, —I do not pretend to be an expert on classical music, but I am an avid bi-fi listener and I have been privileged to [hear some of the world's great orchestra’s perform. Last night I heard an excellent concert by the New Zealand National Orchestra. For c-ndy twice the price of going to the pictures, I was able to get an excellent seat on the day of the performance. Many spaces were left unoccupied during the concert. Presumably attendance would have been even poorer if the King and Queen of Thailand had hot been present. New Zeeland’s fine orchestra deserves better support.— Yours, etc., EVAN WHITE. August 25. 1961.
