Titles At Mt. Cheesenian
With fine weather and fast, packed snow the Canterbury Winter Sports Club’s ski-ing championships were held on the Mount Cheeseman grounds at the week-end. Two of the province’s leading young skiers. G. Nevell and J. Willis, showed at their best in keen competition for the top honours Results were:—
Downhill.—Men’s: G. Nevell. 0 points lost; J. Willis. 0.31; S Yates. 1.81; R. Sheckleton, 5.20; M Corner. 5.40. Women’s: R. Johnson. 0; A. Willis. 5.98; J. Matthews. 16.52; J. Mabln, 27.30; B Johnson. 3104.
Slalom.—Men’s: G. Nevell, 0 points lost; J Willis, 3.81; R Lewis 10.17: W Moore. 12.62; J. Rogers. 16.92. Women’s: M. Boyle, 0; R. Johnson. 5.07: B. Johnson. 10.55; J. Mabin. 23 03; R Willis. 28.5.
