Chickens Die In Fire

About 2500 12-day-old chickens perished in a blaze which destroyed a large poultry shed owned by Mr E. F. G. Sharp. Norana avenue. Mangere. early this morning. The Otahuhu and Onehunga fire brigades were called at 3.21 a.m after the glare from the burning shtd woke Mr Sharp. A defective oil burning heater is believed to have caused the outbreak
