The Auckland Rugby Union was tonight arranging for R. Rangi. the centre-three-quarters, to fly back to Auckland for the Ranfurly Shield match against West Coast at Eden Park tomorrow.

Rangi is with the Combined Services’ touring team, and today was given permission by the Services’ Rugby Council to play for Auckland. It is likely that Rangi will arrive in „ Auckland tomorrow morning. The West Coast team trained today and all the players were reported fit. The ground was expected to be soft, but not difficult, after recent rain. The teams:
