A .-Reuter—-Copyright) CANBERRA, August 24 The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will begin their 38-day tour of Australia next February 1, the Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) said lasrt night, releasing the itinerary The itinerary shows that the Queen and the Duke will spend 10 days and 15 nights aboard the Royal yacht Britannia
Mr Menzies said the itinerary was based on the maximum use of the Britannia
The Queen would use the yacht as her home wherever possible, and as a means of transport and rest between engagements
Use of the yacht would also allow the Queen to enter Melbourne. Hobart. Sydney. Brisbane and Fremantle from the sea. and the Queen intended to use the yacht for entertainment purposes throughout her visit The Queen and Duke will be in Canberra on March 12 the 50th anniversary, of the naming of the city by Lady Denham, wife of the then Governor General Lord Denham. in 1913 Cooma. in New South Wales, and Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory, are the only inland towns tn Australia for which provision is made on the itinerary
