McLean Not To Tour
(N.Z.P.A -Reuter —Copi/ripht) DURBAN, August 24, The South African batsman, R. A. McLean, said last night he would not be available to tour Australia and New Zealand with the Springbok cricket team next year.
McLean said that he found it impossible to make any more long tours overseas for personal and domestic reasons. Asked if he might change his mind If he was Invited to captain the side to Australia, McLean replied: “Naturally it would be a tremendous honour, but not even that could make me change my mind.”
