Youth Badly Burnt

AUCKLAND. August 24
A youth was admitted to Auckland Hospital tonight suffering from burns to most of his body. He was discovered by motorists in a hysterical sta’e at the motorway end of the Victoria (’ark viaduct about 840 p.m. The police are investigating the circumstances of his injuries. He is believed to be an Islander or a Maori, aged about 17. When found he was wearing only a shirt over a sailortype square neck shirt and undernants H J legs and feet were bare.
It is believed he may have fallen into a vat of boiling lime water at the Auckland Gas Company’s works. His name is not positively known, tut he is believed to be George Heaps. His condition is serious.
