Delays On Tour
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 23. Determined insistence by King Bhumibol to see and be seen by as many New Zealanders as possible is causing big delays in the Thai Royal ■tour. Schedules have frequently been proved wrong by more than an hour. Crowds have been far beyond expectations in every centre visited, according to the tour transport officer, Mr S. G. Mudge. “In many places where we planned for a 10-mile-an-hour drive we have only been able to travel at 5 miles an hour.” he said. "The King won’t let them speed up."
