COMMERCIAL N.Z. Insurance Bright Spot On Weak Market
New Zealahd Insurance provided a bright spot on an otherwise dull market yesterday with the old shares rising 2s to 88s and the B shares Is 9d to 88s in Auckland sales. Both shares have risen steadily since being ex dividend 10 days ago.
Trading was very dull with rises outnumbering falls two to one. Overseas issues were partcularly weak with Woolworths rights, up 4d at 6s lid, the only rise. Apart from National Pictures, up 2s 6d in first trading for some weeks, most New Zealand price moves were slight. Bank of N.S.W. New Zealand register slipped back ss, while Anthony Hordern, in first business for several months, eased 4s 9d.
