Grant To Maori Foundation
Parliament yesterday afternoon discussed the Electricity Department's report. During the evening, local bills were dealt with, and the House proceeded with the committee stages of the Commonwealth Fabric Corporation Bill. Papers tabled included a report on New Zealand’s participation in the United Nations in 1961, and the annual report of the Linen Flax Corporation. Urgency was taken at 9 p.m. on the bill, and the House Was still discussing the short title at 11.45 p.m.

WELLINGTON. Aug. 23. A remit that the New Zealand Post-primary Teachers’ Association become a member of the Maori Education Foundation was carried at the annual conference yesterday. A gift of £lOO to the foundation was agreed upon.
