Two New Free Kindergartens
The Rangiora Free Kindergarten is now being built and the new Rutland Street Kindergarten will b< started soon, says a report from a delegates' and council meeting of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association.
The Macfarlane Park Kindergarten has been closed temporarily to allow for alterations atid improvements to bring the building up to standard, the report' added.
Several members of the council attended a regional conference in Timaru recently, when findings of the Commission on Education in New Zealand were discussed
At this regional meeting it was agreed that the Christchurch association investigate the possibility of compiling a list of approved accommodation for kindergarten t:?'nees.
Daffodil Day will be held on September 21 and it was proposed to hold a monster fair in the Durham street Art Gallery in association with the street appeal on that day. A white elephant stall will be a feature of the fair, but the cake stall will be held in Cathedral square as usual, the report said.
