Thousands Camp Out
(N.ZJ>.A.-Reuter— Copyright) NAPLES, August 23.
Nervous Neapolitans thronged the streets of the city all night, afraid to enter their homes in case of more earth tremors.
Rainstorms added to the discomfort of thousands still camping out in the region of Avellino and Ariano Irpino, 50 miles to the east, in the southern Appenines, which seemed to have been the epicentre of the tremors. The death-roll rose to 16 when two women who had heart attacks during the tremors at Avellino died in hospital. The Italian Prime Minister •Mr Amintore Fanfani) returned to Rome after a tour of the stricken areas, and after a Cabinet meeting announced a 2.400 million lire grant to repair damage.
