Electors Urged To Make Check
Resident in the Riccarton borough are urged by the town clerk (Mr R Sarjeantl to make sure they are on the district electors' roll. Applications for enrolment on the supplementary roll closes on September 14 to allow compilation in time for the municipal elections on October 13 Under the Local Elections and PUls Act persons could be made liable for a fine of up to £5 for not making claims for enrolment. Mr Sarjeant said yesterday. The main roll had been heavily purged recently and persons, particularly those new to the district and those who had become 21 in the last three years, should make sure they were listed. The roll could be inspected at the council chambers or at various shops in the district. Ise said.
