CANTERBURY CHANGES
Stewart Plays At No. 8
The absence of four players in the All Blacks —D. J. Graham, D. Young. R. C. Moreton and P. J. Morrissey has meant several changes in the Canterbury Rugby team to play Southland at Lancaster Park on Saturday. Q. T. Tapsell has been brought into centre. D. A Arnold as second five-eighths and B. A. Watt to first fiveeights. A. F. Orme, who has been playing well in recent games, has been dropped to the reserves. The back selector (Mr P. B Vincent) has also called in the University full-back, D C. Leary, but this time Leary will be on the wing. The most interesting aspect of the forward selection is the playing of A. J. Stewart, using a lock, at No. 8. T. H. Moynihan, who will captain the side and who is the regular No. 8, has been moved to the side of the scrum.
C. R. Hockley, who toured north with the Canterbury team, has been chosen as prop and M. W. Allen, who has filled that position in the last two games, is at lock with R S. Abel The team is: W. F McCormick; D. C. Leary. Q. T. Tapsell. W. Birtwhistle; D. A. Arnold, B. A
