Ten Guest Speakers At Spring School
There will be 10 guest speakers ait the Church Missionary Society’s spring school at Tyndale House, Cashmere, from August 27 to August 31. The Australian Church Missionary Society’s “jungle doctor” (Dr. P. White) will give three addresses, and the Rt.l Rev. M. L. Loane, Bishop Coadjutor of Sydney, will speak of his recent survey of mission fields in India and Africa. He will also hold Bible study sessions on August 28, 29, and 30. The Rev. B. R. Carrell, provincial president of the New Zealand Church Missionary Society’s League of Youth, the Rev. K. Gregory, who has recently been in Pakistan, and the Rev H. E. Thompson, who has recently been in Tanganyika, will give addresses at the prayer sessions during the school. Discussion panels on “The Missionary Task.’’ “The Missionary Motive.” and the “Missionary for Today,” will be introduced by the Rev. Canon R. A. Carson, who has recently returned from Pakistan, Miss A. Meggitt, who has been at Sukkur Hospital, in Pakistan, and the Rev. R. F. N. Thompson, candidates’ committee member of the society. Miss J. Murray, of the Fort Hall diocese, Kenya, will give a report from Kenya, and a report from the Congo will be given by the Rev. C. Rendle, of the society’s Uganda Mission. The Bishop of Nelson (the Rt. Rev. F. O. Hulme-Moir) will give an address on the challenge of the school. Bishop Hulme-Moir and Mrs Hulme-Moir will be host and hostess at the school.
