WOMAN FAILS TO APPEAR
Warrant Issued For Arrest A warrant for the arrest of a married woman charged with receiving stolen goods was issued by Mr Justice Richmond yesterday when she failed to appear for trial in the Supreme Court. The woman is Greta Ailsa Worthington, charged with receiving clothing valued at £3B. the property of Peter Leslie Dent and Mavis Elaine Briggs, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained. She is alleged to have received the goods on January 23. and the case was originally set down for trial oh August 7. When she failed to appear yesterday, Mr C. M. Roper, for the Crown, told his Honour that the woman was on bail and, although required to report to the police twice a week, had not reported since August 4 Her counsel. Mr J. G. Hutchison, said he was unable to assist the Court as to her whereabouts. He knew she was in Christchurch for the first week of the session because she had been responding to his letters addressed to * h ®'“« in Hereford street. She had not been at that address since August 4.
