Short Visit To N.Z.

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON. Aug. 19. The deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Harin Hongsula, made the 22hour trip with the King and Queen of Thailand, from Bangkok to Wellington on Saturday. He left by T.E.A.L. aircraft for Sydney and Bangkok 24 hours later. Unannounced, and unexpected until a short time before the Royal aircraft touched down at Wellington Airport on Saturday afternoon, Air Chief Marshal Harin is said to be related to Queen Sirikit. Air Chief Marsha] Harin made the long week-end trip for two reasons. He was chairman of the committee which organised the tour and chartered the aircraft and he is also a special aide-de-camp to King Bhumibol In that capacity he has a duty to escort the King when he travels overseas.

The Air Chief Marshal will leave Bangkok again towards the end of the tour in time to meet the King and Queen at Perth for the last leg of the journey to Thailand. During his overnight stay in Wellington, Air Chief Marshal Harin met the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice-Marshal I. G. Morrison. They discovered that they had both attended an R A F. navigational course in England shortly before the outbreak of World War 11.

Leg Injuries. —La nce Edward Nicoll. of 119 Somerfield street, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from leg injuries on Saturday evening Mr Nichol! was standing behind a car which was struck by another car. The accident occurred in Wainoni road, east of Breezes road.
