SINGLES TITLE TO EMERSON
All-Australian Doubles Final
(N.Z P.A .-Reuter—Copyright I VIAREGGIO (Italy), Aug 16. R. Emerson, of Australia, won the men’s singles title at the Viareggio international lawn tennis tournament yesterday. He beat O. Slrola (Italy), 7-5, 6-3. 6-2. in the final. Emerson and N. Fraser also won the all-Australian men's doubles final by defeating Dr. J. Fraser and W. Woodcock. 7-5. 6-2. 8-6.
Players Want To Tour
The leading Philippines tennis players, J. Jose and E. Dungo. are interested tn visiting New Zealand in the coming season according to the manager of the New Zealand touring team. Mr S. F Ramson. In the Malayan championships in which the New Zealanders took part late last month. Jose, the title-holder, beat I. S. Crookenden in the final, and Jose and Dungo beat Crookenden and J. B. Souter for the doubles
