Soccer CANTERBURY WINS, 4-0

Too Good For Students Canterbury beat the New Zealand Universities team by 4-0 in a bright exhibition of soccer at Ham Park yesterday. Canterbury was at full strength in view of the forthcoming match against Wellington, and the game was regarded as a trial for several players. Universities attempted to play constructive soccer, but it could not match the skill and coordination of the Canterbury team. In the second-half, Universities was subjected to s full-scale assault, and it was only grim defensive work by the full-back. J. Roborgh and P Manderson, and some excellent saves by the goalkeeper. P Curzon, that kept the scoring down. Canterbury was strong in the halves: D. Simmonds < centre - half I played a fine game, as did G. Donaldson. J. Price add P.
